Cork Green Energy use Turboden Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology to produce heat and power with high efficiency and user friendly operation. It is designed as a combustor and generator of hot gases with combustion of solid biomasses by means of the ORC module. Cork Green Energy’s plant is powered by a highly efficient Biomass Boiler that heats thermal oil to power the orc turbine.
Cork Green Energy produces 1.2 megawatts of green electricity per hour, which is supplied directly to the national grid and can power the needs of over 1,100 homes. The heat generated by this process is supplied back to MCP to Heat Treat and Kiln Dry pallets.
